We’re the Nelson family, the people behind Michigan Teas. Our love of tea has always been about sharing: offering a cup to say thank you, show love, or celebrate someone who is a blessing in our lives. We created Michigan Teas to share that feeling with you.

A Michigan Teas Company Built Around Sharing

Walking into a tea shop can feel overwhelming. There are so many types, flavors, and labels to sort through, especially when you’re looking for organic tea. We do the searching with care. Most of our teas come from local companies we trust, and about 5% come from other carefully chosen sources.

Across our collection, you’ll find certified organic teas, wild-harvested selections, family-farmed teas, and carefully curated finds. These descriptions mean different things. Organic certification applies only to the specific teas that carry it. Wild-harvested, family-farmed, and curated describe sourcing or selection, not organic certification. Check each product page for details.

USDA Organic is a regulated label with defined production and labeling standards. It does not mean a product is pesticide-free, so we avoid making promises beyond what the certification says. Learn more about USDA organic labeling .

Sip With Purpose

Our faith and family shape the way we think about gratitude, service, and community. In 2026, our support in the Philippines has helped reach 47 children to know about Christ and helped two junior high school students receive full oral rehabilitation.

Separately, over the past three years, Michigan Teas has contributed $800 in cash and in-kind support to Joy Baptist Church ministries, and that giving is ongoing. We have also taken part in five fundraiser events.
